The development of the new World
Headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys and the city multi-use event center in
Frisco, Texas is moving forward with the announcement of key firms that will
play major roles in the project. Heading that list are Lincoln Property
Company, Gensler, Manhattan Construction, O’Brien Architects And Rex Real Estate.
The project will be within a mixed-use development consisting of approximately
90 acres of land and will be located in Frisco at the northwest corner of
Warren Parkway and Dallas North Tollway.
The mixed-use development will be
anchored by the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and a city multi-use event
center. This publicly owned, multi-use event center will be used by the City of
Frisco and Frisco Independent School District (FISD) to host various activities,
including athletic competitions, graduations and other special events and
The Cowboys Headquarters will become
the new home to the Cowboy’s entire football operation, including administrative
offices, coaches’ offices and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The partnership
between the Dallas Cowboys and the City of Frisco and the FISD was announced in
August of 2013.
The development will also have
additional office buildings, lifestyle, retail and restaurant space, hotel and
residential components which Lincoln Property Company will handle the marketing
and leasing of once these elements are completed.
Dallas-based Lincoln Property
Company is one of the nation’s largest diversified real estate companies with
divisional heads David Pettle, Executive Vice President -Office; Jeff Courtwright,
Executive Vice President-Residential; and Robert Dozier, Executive Vice
President-Retail collaborating on this development.

Frisco ISD officials echoed that
sentiment. “Public-private partnerships have become a hallmark of this
community and have proven to provide extraordinary opportunities to all citizens,
particularly our students in Frisco ISD,” Dr. Jeremy Lyon, Superintendent of
Gensler has been selected as the
architect and interior designer for the Cowboys World Headquarters and the
adjoining city multi-use event center. Founded in 1965, Gensler is a global design
firm, with 46 offices, 27 practice areas and more than 4,000 employees
worldwide. Gensler’s sports practice is a multidisciplinary group of
professionals with many years of experience in the design and planning of
innovative professional and collegiate venues, fitness/recreation centers and
sports-anchored entertainment districts around the world. The team has made a
major impact on sports facility design through its work on the Detroit Lions Headquarters
and Training Facility; FirstEnergy Stadium, home of the Cleveland Browns; The Philadelphia
Eagles’ Lincoln Financial Field; Farmers Field, Los Angeles, CA; and Corinthian
Stadium, site of the 2014 World Cup, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Manhattan Construction will serve as
the primary builder charged with the construction of the Cowboys World
Headquarters and the city multi-use event center. Manhattan enjoys a reputation
as one of the most productive and respected construction firms in the nation.
The company has also been recognized by Engineering News-Record as a top 20
Manhattan's Texas region specializes
in building facilities and stadiums for professional sports teams, local
municipalities, universities and development groups. Manhattan was the primary builder
for AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys) in Arlington, TX; The
Ballpark in Arlington Texas Rangers); Apogee Stadium (University of North
Texas), and the firm is currently heading up the refurbishing of historic Kyle
Field (home of the Texas A&M football Aggies) in College Station, TX.
Dallas based O’Brien Architects has
been designated as the designer for the master plan of the mixed-use
development that will surround the Cowboys World Headquarters and the city multi-use
event center. Founded in 1974, O’Brien Architects is a full-service,
multidisciplinary architecture, planning and interior design firm. The firm has
a long-standing reputation for its innovative design solutions with unique
visioning and animation services. With more than 4,500 projects completed
nationwide, O’Brien Architects serves clients in a variety of market sectors including:
retail, office, mixed use, industrial, government, healthcare, civic, interiors
and multi-family. The firm’s extensive master planning experience consists of
multiple large complex, mixed use sites, including Grandscape in The Colony, TX;
Perkins Rowe in Baton Rouge, LA., and The Streets of Brentwood in Brentwood, CA.
In addition, Rex Real Estate of
Frisco played the key third party role in the
real estate portion of the deal between
the City of Frisco, the Frisco community Development Corporation, Blue Star
Land and the Dallas Cowboys.
A groundbreaking date in 2014 is
still to be determined, but the Cowboys are planning the move to Frisco in the fall
2016 from their current headquarters located in Irving, Texas, the team’s
training home since 1985.
