Why Fall Is The Best Time To Buy Fixer Upper Homes In DFW

Below are a few reasons why: 1. In the early fall, the families with children in school have likely already moved into "their" new homes, so you have less competition in the market-place (which ALWAYS helps in a hot sellers market so that you are not constantly battling multiple offers). 2. More choices. Inventory was SUPER low this past May and July in the DFW metroplex and there were many, many more buyers out there than there were homes on the market. Winding down into the fall months, you have a few more choices as not "as many" buyers are looking for homes. 3. Sellers who are listing In the cooler months are serious about selling. With such a hot sellers market this past summer, there were quite a few sellers listing at the very top of the market who may have not been "as serious" about truly selling and just wanted to "see what they could get". 4. Sellers who list now generally would like to be in their "next" home before the holidays and not have to be interrupted with home-showings during festivities or family-gatherings. This could mean more leverage for the buyer ;-) 5. If a home has been listed in the summer, and for some odd reason, is "still" on the market, at this point, most sellers have came to reality and have reduced their home to a price that will meet market-demand to actually sell.
