Camping Around Dallas Texas

Texas is HOT -  but we are having a surprisingly mild (relatively speaking) summer so far. If you have not already done so, you are running out of time to get out and enjoy this weather.
A great place to camp is at Lake Ray Roberts. Whether you prefer tenting, RVing or staying in an air conditioned room, you have it all covered.
What I really like about Lake Ray Roberts is that it is far away enough to feel like you are getting away but close enough not to become disgruntled by the trip to and from the lake.
Lake Ray Roberts caters for mountain biking, horse riding, canoeing, skiing, fishing etc etc. - and the pricing is so good.
We use it so much that we purchased a Annual Texas State Park Pass for $70 which covers day entry for one year. In addition to that you will need to pay overnight fees which are very reasonable. If you are camping without electricity it is $15 per site per night and with electricity you can pay up to $26 per site per night.
We really enjoyed it and living in Dallas, you have to be able to get away from time to time to keep your sanity.
